Notes

This album is a collaboration between brothers Joey and Matthew Swindle known as "Swindle Boys." This is their first release as a partnership. The album is comprised of 10 songs written as somewhat of a tribute to their family and the folks they grew up around that helped shape who they are as musicians and people. Inspiration was drawn from childhood memories, lasting as well as failed relationships, lost friends and loved ones, current happenings, romance, spirituality, hardships they and loved ones were and are facing, and a great hope and excitement for the future. It was recorded in two parts. Drums and partial guitars were recorded in two subsequent days in Denton, TX with Alex Gerst at Indian Trail Studios (The Feds, Slow Roosevelt, Fair to Midland.) A few weeks later, the brothers took a 4 hour trip down Hwy 35 South to Austin, TX to record with Britton Beisenherz at Ramble Creek Recording Studio (Telegraph Canyon, Monahans, Seryn.) Two weekends were spent in Austin tracking the rest of the instruments and vocals, with Britton helping in production and laying down 2 guitar tracks and a few piano/ organ tracks. Shortly after, Britton mixed all of the tracks and sent the music to Jim Wilson Mastering in Boulder, Colorado to do his magic and create a final master copy. After several months of painstaking writing, strained finances, 100 brotherly fights, several miles driven, and a few bottles of whiskey, "One and Three" was finally complete. Please enjoy this album for what it is- an attempt to fully convey a wide variety of emotions and thoughts without an ounce of pretense and without holding anything back musically or lyrically. This is "One and Three."
