Notes
- TAIZEN Bio -
Two song writers found their way together to create this unique, bilingual music that is open to all influences, especially from Mexican and South American roots. It took Taizen over a year in the studio to craft their inspirations into the 14 songs that make up the latest album, "Cocuyo", released in 2005.
The group's co-founder/song writer, Javier "Javs" Lorenzo's Mexican roots bring the richness felt in the soul of this music. Javier admits a passionate love of the music of the 60's and 70's, especially The Who and Santana. Latin music and the Brazilian classics are also heavy influences that he continues to mine with the other band's' song-writer, Lance "Chems" Waters.
The partnership Javs and Chems have established, is solid gold. Chems brings a wall of screaming, flaming talent to the music with his versatile, multidimensional guitar interpretations. He owns and operates his own sound engineering company, as well. Chems is an academy-trained musician. He was the man at the panels during the recording operations of the "Cocuyo" album.
Lastly, Joe Mejia (bass player) and Mike (ex drummer of Ohtli) joint the band in 2005 to make Taizen a powerful and energetic Rock band now in 2006.
Taizen had several songs getting consistent play on the Rock-in-Spanish radio programs in Southern California and Baja California, as well as on college and public radio stations throughout the United States. Now that the "Cocuyo" CD is released, Taizen is making its presence known in important clubs such as The House Of Blues, Over The Border, Multi-Culti (Tijuana), etc, this year.
Check us out- Taizen, in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix, is 'comin' to get you!
