A visit back to the heady days of AM radio in 1968 !

So I miss AM radio from when I was a tiny, tiny human. It was magical - it was over the top and still managed to maintain a polite, surrreal charm while it served us some of the greatest music of all time. We didn't KNOW it was some of the greatest music of all time, it was just "the new stuff" back then. So I wanted to re-create what radio was like back then. Of course, you can go online and find old radio broadcasts from that era (which you SHOULD do - they're delightful) BUT you would miss the sense of discovery; you already have ALL those songs tattooed on the back of your skull.
SO. I decided to re-imagine an hour (and I mean EXACTLY one hour) of AM programming - that means with commercials, a cola war, weather checks, time checks, radio IDs and a DJ named Uncle Fuddy. You'll hear a bunch of new songs that harken back to the mid and late 60's, but (hopefully) aren't so close that I get in trouble. It's all in fun ! And in all likelihood will sell 11 copies, so please don't line up to sue me.
In fact, because of the time checks, if you start the cd at the top of the hour and just let it run on repeat mode, it will act like clock for you. Seriously. Put it on in the background and let it go. It's made to NOT pay attention to. It's thuddy and somewhat tinny and in MONO - it's supposed to sound like that one speaker in the back of your grandpa's 1968 Chevy Impala. Experiment with your tone controls - make it sound like a crappy 60's transistor radio - it WANTS you to play with it. If you want to show off to your friends that you can read, you can find the lyrics on my website www.stuartpearson.net .
