Description
High-energy, powerful grunge-pop from the indie band rooms of Melbourne, Australia. Snarling vocals and guitar backed by a monstrous rhythm section.
Notes
Melbourne grunge-pop trio Dear Stalker are back with a new EP: “Since When Were We Enemies?”
Born from the ashes of their abandoned debut album session, "Since When Were We Enemies?" captures all of the drama, confusion, frustration and ultimately defiant resilience that accompanies such a turbulent time.
Recorded with Josh Whitehead (who recorded the band's previous single "Whole Other Kind"), the six tracks delve deeper into what has become Dear Stalker’s signature sound: singer/guitarist Lisa Murphwell’s snarling guitar and vocals over the monstrous rhythm section that is bassist Adam Learner and drummer Alan Murphwell.
“Whole Other Kind” (2012) was received warmly by community radio throughout Melbourne and beyond, and saw Dear Stalker dubbed ‘one of this town’s most exciting new bands’ by Inpress magazine. Their 2010 self-titled debut EP was summed up by Beat Magazine as ‘quite brilliant’, and featured the lead track “In A Right Mind” (featured on ABC’s Rage).
Dear Stalker’s twisted music video for “Whole Other Kind” has become a cult hit online (well worth a look!) and still receives frequent rotation on Melbourne’s Channel 31.
With a launch show locked in for November 2015, Dear Stalker will be bringing the power of “Since When Were We Enemies?” to a venue near you soon!
“A simply stunning release from an outstanding band. Intelligent, passionate and bristling with a fervent indomitable power throughout.” - Rock Bottom Reviews (Bendigo, Victoria)
“Dear Stalker’s mixture of classic and modern rock hits all the right notes on this release. I’ve been waiting for the world to catch up and realize how amazing this band is since their first EP.” - Beneath The Grid Music (USA)
