Originally signed by Florence Greenberg, owner of Scepter Records, To record "Winchester Cathedral" in 1965, Steve left Scepter and honed his piano craft in Greenwich Village, N.Y.C. jamming on keyboards with many top groups of the sixties and seventies such as The Blues Project, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Genya Ravan and Ten Wheel Drive, Jimi James And The Blue Flame, The David Clayton Thomas Blues Band, and was a regular at the Village Gate, The Village Vanguard, The Bitter End, The Bottom Line, C.B.G.B.'s, The Undergroud, The Other End and The Cafe Wha. Steve performed three winning original entries for the New York State Songwriters Festival held at The Bottom Line. In 2001 Steve released an original cd on the website mp3.com. It remained the best selling cd for six straight weeks and was ranked number one in all categories.
