Description
Compilation of some bermuda's best artist
Note
Shane “Bermuda” Woodley presents Da Squad Starting Eleven” is a compilation album which features all local artists, producers and writers that represent the ‘best of the best’ in Bermuda’s music industry. The unique idea surrounding this debut album is that Mr. Woodley deliberately hand selected only eleven artists to form Da Squad, Bermuda’s musical national team. Comparable to a football team, the island’s favorite sport, each position on the album (striker, midfielder, goal keeper) has been filled by an artist whose songs bring strength to the team. This talented team of artists and expertly blended eleven songs will score hits on the local music charts, with aspirations to compete internationally in the big leagues.
Da Squad for 2011 consists of island’s favorites, like Troy Anthony as well as upcoming stars such as 15 yr old Jelani and 17 yr on Yung Mac who prove they deserve their space on the team. Others include: Kombat, KD da Beast, Fyah B, E-Levels, Candace Furbert, BLAC and Big Snipes. The album is a great mix of reggae, hip hop, rap, dancehall, R&B and gospel. The album’s first single “Mi A Pray” by Cheetah, released in November 2010 and has been receiving regular radio time on local stations as well as praise overseas. Da Squad Starting Eleven is an album that the entire island can be proud of.
