Notes
When Katrina Morse asked me to play live music at the opening reception for her art show, I don't think she knew what she was getting into. Yet, when I saw the paintings, I knew immediately that I wanted to play piano improvisations inspired by each of them.
So that's what I did. And the people at the reception got into it, too. They asked for improv based on a particular painting and I obliged. It was an inspiring and enlivening evening of art, wine, and wide-eyed joy.
Now, you get to enjoy a few of the pieces that came out of that evening of art and improv music. I hope that your enjoyment is a match for how wonderful it was to create it.
