Notes
Straight Up Down was first formed in Long Beach in 2003 but then abandoned for other musical projects and life journeys. In 2008 Tyler Payne decided to get it going again and really do it right this time now that he had many years of experience writing songs and recording.
He started out in his apartment recording and mixing what would become "Some Vibrations for the Air". Soon he began involving his friends such as Edan Simpson and original Straight Up Down member, Ryan Piercy. Tyler worked hard mixing and mastering Some Vibrations for the Air and wanted to launch Straight Up Dow's debut album the right way with some great music.
Upon it's release in January 2009, it got great reviews from anyone who heard it and Tyler knew that it was time to get serious and begin Straight Up Down's journey of making music unlike anything out there.
Straight Up Down has begun playing local shows and is currently working on new material. They plan to continue the momentum and start playing shows outside of the Long Beach area while working on a new album.
Tyler is a strong believer in experimenting and wants all of Straight Up Down's albums to have their own unique flavor.
You can bet that you will be hearing a lot more of Straight Up Down in the years to come!
