Notes

On January 25, 2006, Jonathan released “The Player & The Pawn,” his fifth collection of original since 1995. Adding drums, bass and keyboards to his melodic piano lines, Jonathan delivers what he feels is his best work to date. Continually growing as a songwriter, drawing from life, love and loss, Jonathan taps in to the reality of the games we’ve all played when it comes to relationships.

Jonathan Stiers, born January 22, in Fayetteville, AR, started singing and playing piano at the age of 7. Raised in Fayetteville, Jonathan remembers his Dad letting him bang on his old "70s" Wurlitzer keyboard. Never having any formal training, Jonathan plays by ear and still doesn't read sheet music to this day. It wasn't until 1994 when Jonathan bought an old, beaten-up, wooden upright, that he started to compose music and lyrics of his own. Some of Jonathan's influences include: Tori Amos, Rufus Wainwright and Depeche Mode.

Jonathan has a degree in graphic design and currently works as a corporate art director by day and plays live whenever he gets the chance. Sadly with a full-time corporate job, he doesn't get to as often. He spends most of his free time composing and recording.
