The modern bossa-nova grooves of 'n0va' converge jh0st's previous work in acid jazz, ambient, indie-rock, and pop. Originally composed in the year 2000 and recorded 15 years later, the songs trace a personal trajectory that resonates at the archetypal level: Stories of love, longing, and loss are framed in the classic bossa nova mode that celebrates human narratives through a melancholy half-smile.

Like much of jh0st's cassette 4-track work, the songs were performed in as much of a 'live' style as possible with continuous takes, simultaneous tracking of vocals and guitar, and improvisation within structure. A special thanks to influences Jin Suk who introduced the bossa-nova medium and created the album art, and Andrew Nimmo who inspired with his fluid drum grooves.
