Djanan Turan is a Turkish born singer songwriter living and working in London.
Her five-piece band consists of seasoned accomplished musicians,
Dan Lipman - clarinet,flute (Bryan Ferry),
Tansay Omar - drums (Bjork),
Paul Tkachenko – bass (Sam and The Womp),
Fatih Ebrem – guitar,keys (Funkshy)
Pablo Dominguez – guitar (Chano Dominguez)
Through an unexpected fusion of musical expressions, Djanan has managed to weave intriguing stories into her quirky style. Waltz, Turkish wailings, 70’s synth psychedelia, classical strings, romantic piano sounds all accompany her unique seductive vocals with harmonious perfection.
In her greatly anticipated new EP, Maze, (financed by her loyal fans
on crowd-funding platform “kickstarter”) Djanan brings out more
of her folk and psychedelic influences.
This 4 track EP is another colourful journey within itself, consisting of 3 of her own songs, ‘Maze’, ‘Drive’ and ‘Brother’, as well as, a bonus collaboration; ‘Feels Right’ co-written with the highly acclaimed underground electronic music band, The Egg.
Djanan produced the album with Raz Olsher (Sam and The Womp, ‘BOM BOM’) at Fossil Studios, London.
Following the success of her EP’s “Artigo” in 2011 and “What She Wants” in 2013, Djanan has been regularly performing at major venues and festivals,
in and outside the UK, such as Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Mandstock (Italy), Hayal Kahvesi (Turkey), Shaft (Turkey),The Forge (London) Jamboree (London), Canteen (Bristol) + many more
