Description

Jacques Barsac's historical film "An Mil" captures the first millennium madness which raged across Roman Christian Europe. Sweeping sonic landscapes are infused with chanting monks, raiding Vikings, and barbarian invaders.

Notes

As the second millennium came to a close in 1999, Channel 4 broadcast Jacques Barsac's historical TV special "An Mil". It is an artful look at the paranoia that struck Europe during the close of the first millennium. Eric Wenger composed a striking score for the film which captures the tone of this medieval Roman Christian period, from chanting monks to invading Vikings.

Featured vocalists: Erin Boorse (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,12.13), Kalib DuArte (1,2,5,10,12), Raphael Elig (4, 6), Agnes Jallais (9), Carolyn Yarnell (2).
