Description
This band from the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York plays music that boogies, shuffles, rocks and burns with incendiary guitar playing and tone as big as the Texas Plains. The rhythm section lays down infectious grooves as if they have one mind.
Notes
Fade to Blues was formed in the winter of 2006 by Brian Ready and Greg McCullough two Fairfield County Connecticut guitar players. They immediately hit the club circuit in Westchester and Fairfield Counties then the studio to lay down the music of these two bluesmen, both prolific composers. The result was their first cd entitled; "In the Dark" which received regional airplay on the east coast and European and South American airplay. The CT Blues Challenge came next and for three years running they made it to the finals out of field of 100 or so blues bands in Connecticut. Fade to Blues' second cd, " BluesMan!" was recorded in 2008 and was never released.
In the fall of 2009 Brian's move to the Adirondacks caused the dis-banding of Fade to Blues. For the next three years Brian laid low waiting to find the caliber of player needed to continue. "I needed real blues musicians with chops, tone, feel and big ears", Brian says. After attending a jam session at Delta Blue in Lake Placid, NY and because of the insistence of his good friend, the late Gene Minasi, Brian found the network of players he needed to re-form the band. Since reforming, Fade to Blues has been playing steadily in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondacks and is now widening their playing region to include more outlying and populated areas. They are in the process of recording newly written originals, as well as re-recording material written for the "BluesMan!" cd. The new cd entitled "Born With The Blues" is slated for a late December 2014 release. Fade to Blues will also be traveling to Memphis, TN in January 2015 as the Capital Region Blues Network's entry into The International Blues Challenge, a five day event held in dozens of clubs on Beale St. feature 100's of blues bands from around the world.
