Description
A 20 year retrospective of the Southern California Horror Punk/Metal band. Fast, loud, silly and at times offensive!
Notes
20 Songs of Torment is collection of songs spanning the 20 year career of Fangboy and the Ghouls.
Fangboy and the Ghouls was a horror punk/metal band started in 1995 by Jason "The Wolfman" Amelio, Chris 'The Monster" Savoy and Talon "The Count" Klipp.
From '95 to 2002 Fangboy haunted the Ventura music scene, opening for acts like The Misfits, Fear, DRI, Graves, Damnation and The Stranglers. Playing everything from bars and night clubs to county fairs and Hell Angles club houses they also had a number of fetish balls, holiday shows, Halloween parties and more. Fangboy and the Ghouls was more then anything about having a good time!
For those that were there it was an absolutely awesome run!
Following the departure of founding drummer Talon Klipp in 2002 Chris Savoy and Jason Amelio went on to start the Stoner Metal band The Kill Junkies.
In 2006 Savoy and Amelio found themselves missing those songs of yore and asked TKJ guitar player Chris Cromelin to join on drums for a series of shows. In addition to those shows a small number of new songs were recorded, a few of them released on random web sites over the last few years.
Playing sporadically over the last several years it is often the calls of Comic Conventions, friends within the local rock scene and Halloween that draws Fangboy out of the crypt and onto the stage. The members are in several other projects including The Kill Junkies, The Velveteen Band and Death Benefit.
July 2015 marks the 20 year anniversary of the start of the band and it is with great love and appreciation to our fans and our past that we have decided to release this 20 song retrospective.
The current line up is:
Chris "The Monster" Savoy - Bass/Vocals
Jason "The Wolfman" Amelio - Lead Guitar/Vocals
Chris "Cromula" Cromelin - Drums
Joined at times by long time contributor and member Sean "Professor Fleshhead" Harris - Rhythm Guitar/Vocals
As we start another chapter in the Fangboy story we would like thank "The Count" Talon Klipp original drummer and co-founder. Without his contributions there would be no Fangboy to celebrate and he will always be a part of us on stage or not. We would also like to extend much love to Susan Maddison Klipp as well as their children and families.
Very special thanks to Kenny Mcculloch for creating the original 1995 artwork and Claire Flores for helping us bring the logo into 2015 technology!
