Description

If you can imagine taking a killer record and just ripping it to pieces, only to glue it back together under a heavy, electron microscope, the mitochondria and ribosomes spell it all out.

Notes

dirty scarab's first piece of music was created for an art installation. it consisted of booms, beeps, clicks and a peculiar grating sound. he became so fascinated with this new medium that he temporarily ditched the paintbrush and sculpture paraphernalia and instead used synths, virtual instruments and computers to 'sculpt' sounds.
the result of this rapid change of direction was an album. 'the place where i fell' made in 2001, was a kind of film noir score that changes pace and direction faster than he changed art projects: jazz touches over an industrial beat, combining glitch with orchestra and simple pop with dark textures.
the album was never meant fro public consumption, it was more a kind of private exorcism.
dirty scarab's true music niche, however, is that of the remix artist, reconstructing tracks by son of mann (kidd cougar), 12 harmonic chaos and others.
he's currently working on remixes for baltimore band 'fools & horses'.
