Notes

Fabe Vega
Fabe was born in 1989 in Switzerland. He played the guitar ever since he was 8 years old and he always showed big interest to music including his passion to sing. In his first eight years of formation he played on the spanish guitar, which gave him a good sense for rythm patterns, which can still be heared on his recent material. In the age of 17 Fabe started writing his own songs and joined his first bands. His interest in Music grew bigger and bigger and he started playing small concerts and found his new passion, which he kept till today: busking. After having played the streets of swiss cities many times he went on a 3 month europe-busking-tour and played in over 30 different cities. His passion for music reached a climax at that point, for he experienced how he could combine traveling and playing music at the same time and also survive from it. With his best mates he then started to build his own recording studio, which he now used to record his first official album. He then decided do study music at a university for Jazz music. After two years he dropped out, realizing that being a professional Musician in that way was not what he was looking for. He wanted to play more with his heart than with his head and therefore concentrated on his own Music. After doing some solo gigs and busking he was looking for a band to play his new material with and that’s when he met Joel and Tchico, who were just the perfect musicians for his project.

Inspirations
Fabes main inspiration is clearly Dave Matthews but also a lot of other musicians and bands formed like Beth Hart, Christoph Maé, John Mayer, Ane Brun, Sivert Høyem, Nneka, Paolo Nutini, Jason Mraz, Xavier Rudd, Yodelice, ZAZ and The Decemberists formed his live and music.

The Band
Fabe first met his Bandmembers on a jam session in Winterthur in 2012. Inspired and enchanted by their playing he asked them to join his project. What started of as three musicians playing the same music very quickly developed into a tight friendship and what they sometimes lack of understanding each other (due to three different langurages) they compensate by musical communication. After playing many times on the streets and in small concert venues Fabe decided to record an album in this formation.

Joel D. Allison
Joel was born in 1978 in England. He’s a manly self thought Bass player, although he also took private lessons with Laurance Canty, who taught bass at Goldsmiths College, London. Most of his learning though came through experience playing live and recording in studios over the past 14 years around UK and Europe. Joel has done session recordings for various independent record labels, playing on Tracks featuring Denise Johnson (Primal Scream, George Clinton), Luisa Ventor (Basement Jaxx), Veba (Rae and Christian) and he performed live gigs for Fat City Records act Beatphreak, which included playing at promotion events for Orange, Sony and Nokia. Joel performed already in lots of bands in the North West of England, working on gigs with musicians like: Seteve Washington (Take That, Whitney Houston, Wet Wet Wet), Tim Franks (Jack Bruce), Kim Nashikiwara (Michael Buble), John Helliwel (Supertramp), Matt Steele (Brand New Heavies), Aaron Iiddard (Amy Winehouse).

Joels huge musical experience is essential for the Fabe Vega band to make it sound like one. His playing is very musical and gives every song a nice and personal character.

Tchico Dié
Tchico was born in 1957 in the Ivory Coast. He made his own drum kit out of tomato cans in the age of 7 and played on that one until he got to know a spanish band, which signed him up for a two year contract in the nightclub “le Kirirom” when he was 13 years old, where his job was to clean the instruments. He profited from his cleaning job by forming himself on the drums there. When the drummer of the spanish group fell ill and had to return to spain, they were looking for a new drummer. That’s when Tchico had a chance to show his skills and could join the band. Seen that the other band members where calling him chico (spanish word for young boy) all the time he came up with the name Tchico. His musical dream and career had begun.
He has been playing professionally since 35 years and played with big stars like Miryam Makeba, Manu Dibango, Alpha Blondy, Tiken Djah and many many others. He worked 15 years at the official Radio and Television station of the Ivory Coast as a drummer in the orchestra (O.R.T.I -Orchestre Radio et Television Ivoiren), which he was also the boss of for the last 4 years of him working there. He there started playing with the famous drummer Paco Séry.
