The Hollywood Blacklist (2014) is an absolute masterpiece and a must own for fans of all genres. The new CD features 17 songs, nearly one full hour of groundbreaking music, ultra creative song themes and story lines, exceptional vocals and musicianship throughout and a few very notable guest appearances .... what more could you possibly want? Many of the songs on this album have HUGE hit song potential (Billboard Charts caliber potential). The Hollywood Blacklist was officially released on October 31, 2014 (just 1 1/2 years after the release of Folklore & Superstitions). Please note that only the first 15 songs on the release are available in download format, so you will have to own a physical copy of the CD to hear the last 2 tunes. Lyrics and a promo video can be found at the Foxman Music home website (active links can be found at the profile page). Here is a brief explanation of all 17 songs on the album:

1) Last Resort - Track #1 is always one of the most important ones on an album. Many of my songs center around contemplation and the battle of conscience between good and evil (the crossroads). I originally wrote this song while I was staying with friends in Chicago in January 2014. I was there to audition for NBC's The Voice. Life is full of highs and lows and as a songwriter those extremes can be very drastic, you just have to stay the course and believe in what you are doing and everything else will work out. I did very well with the audition, but I was told I just wasn't the type of person that they were looking for. I am a huge fan of the show and adversity motivates me to no ends ..... In February, I began working on The Hollywood Blacklist and Last Resort was the obvious place to start. Of all the hundreds of thousands of people who have auditioned for the show, I am one of the few who is able to say that I released my 5th album within 8 months of my audition.

2) Blood Drips - Any other fans of Criminal Minds, Dexter, Walking Dead or vampire movies out there? If so, you are going to love this song. The lyrics are unbeatable and the thirst is insatiable. I have come a very long way with my guitar playing since my debut release in 2001. The melodic/hypnotic groove and chilling vocals of this song are gonna haunt you till it hurts.

3) So Long Ago - This song marks a brand new approach in my development as a songwriter. The tune is actually only about 1 minute long, but it is very effective in setting an introspective mood and pulling listeners in. The winds in the background (recorded at my friends home in Chicago while I was there) add the perfect background effect. I guarantee this will be one of the best 1 minute songs you have ever heard and it will echo in your heads forever after.

4) A Way Around It - Another change of pace from songs I have written in the past. The song is about overcoming obstacles in a relationship before it is too late and you wake to find that you are all alone. I did a very good job vocally of capturing the frantic/melancholy mood of the song while still maintaining a poppy groove to keep the hope alive. This song worked perfectly as a follow up to So Long Ago.

5) Won't Be Home Again - All my die hard fans out there will probably recognize this song title because it was originally the hidden 14th track on my Crazy Like A Fox CD. This is one of my favorite songs from that release and I knew I had to get it out in the open where everyone could hear it. I re-recorded the vocals and backup tracks and the results are going to blow you away. For those who are unfamiliar with the song, it is about adultery and honesty. A little bit of a renegade outlaw Country song. This song has HUGE potential !!

6) Nothing At All - Another change of pace, self reflective song. The groove of the tune is simply unbeatable (kind of a slow reggae vibe) and the vocals will pull you in and suffocate you with emotions. We have all had moments in our lives where it feels like nothing matters.

7) Going On The Run - Time to kick things up a bit. This a fun upbeat Punk Rock song about ..... going on the run. It is utterly contagious from start to finish and you will still be singing it well after the song has finished playing. Crank it up and share it with the whole neighborhood. This song also has HUGE potential.

8) Old Highway - This song was actually inspired by the episode of Sons Of Anarchy where Opie was killed (Yes, I am still pissed off about that one). I wrote the lyrics and some simple chords shortly after the show ended. I am going to catch a lot of you by surprise with the emotions (lead guitar and vocals) on this song. It has a strong bluesy groove through the verses and then opens up into one of the most catchy chorus sections you will ever hear. The lead character is basically out on the open road, sleeping from town to town and reflecting back on things while searching for answers and a way back home. This song is an epic classic and will be a favorite with many of my listeners, especially all the bikers.

9) Terrible Tale - Talk about a groundbreaking story line. This song is about a priest who has committed the worse crime imaginable and is returning home after serving a 20 year prison sentence to try and make things right. This song is vintage crossroads, the battle between good and evil and the conscience in between. To top it all off, the song features a track by legendary saxophonist Butch Thomas (Lenny Kravitz, Sting, Thomas Dolby, Jaco Pastorius and many others). This IS a Hit Song !!!

10) C'mon Tampa Bay - Time to change things up a bit and have a little fun. I am a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and this song is a 2 minute ditty about overcoming shyness and asking a girl out on a first date to a Rays game. My friends Troy & Pam Norris helped me out with the backup vocals and did an amazing job. This is a very catchy song from start to finish. Maybe if we get lucky, the song will get played at Tropicana Field. Also hoping that the Rays will make a better showing in 2015. Go Rays !!!

11) Alone With You - Lets keep the fun going !! This song is an old school trip back in time. I originally wrote the song while watching the Buddy Holly movie starring Gary Busey. I have been trying for a very long time to come up with a fun catchy love song and this is it !! HUGE Hit Song !! All the ladies are gonna love me for this one. Time to start dancing :)

12) You & I - Back to the crossroads we go ..... This song is another ultra-effective 1 minute mood setter. Somewhat of a love song, but you will also get you the feeling that something has gone terribly wrong. Almost like the singer is pleading, or begging for forgiveness. I did a very good job vocally of selling the drama on this tune.

13) Halfway To Memphis - This song originally appeared on my Songs From The Gallery demo release (2001). I always loved the vocals and mood of the original, but I hated the recording (especially all the vocal shenanigans with the extra characters). I knew that I had to do a remake of the song and I am glad I did. This song is a meandering venture down the crossroads that will pull you in and tantalize your thoughts forever more. To top it all off and cement its status as a massive Hit Song, Butch Thomas laid down another amazing saxophone track. I am telling you all .... this guy is an world class player.

14) Time's a Real Drag - This is one of my favorite rockers on the new CD. The song features an unbeatable retro rock vibe and kick ass lyrics. Technically it is about a street person who is fantasizing about a prostitute. I suppose for kicks the prostitute could be a drag queen, but that is not what I was picturing when I wrote the song. This song is awesome from start to finish and I even nailed another kick ass cool guitar solo !!. Crank it up and love it. This song has HUGE Hit Song potential, especially with the Rock crowd.

15) Shady Deal - Talk about cool kick ass Rock tunes, this one is a classic !! In a way, this song is kind of a carry over from Time's A Real Drag. The lead character in the song falls for someone who he knew had a questionable past, but he let his guard down anyway and gets burned in the end (she was just another Shady Deal). This song features a lead guitar track by Dennis Stadelman (vocalist/guitarist with Tampa Bay touring band COPE), that is going to blow you all away !!! This guy is a virtuoso ! Took the song to an entirely new level. Crank It up and love it !!

----- Only the first 15 songs will be available as downloads (you have to own a physical copy of the CD to hear the last 2) ------

16) Same Song - This may very well be the best song on the entire CD. It was the last one I recorded so I was well limbered up by the time I got to it. The song is about a person who is haunted by a song on the radio that reminds him of a former love. He is married now and has kids, and he may be wondering if he made the right decision (once again .... the crossroads). The lyrics and catchy chorus section are unbeatable. This song will be playing in your head .... over and over and over again. Hit Song !!

17) Down To The River - How about a little religious revival and a good old fashioned soul cleansing. This song is the perfect way to close out a groundbreaking album. It is a HUGE hit song and I guarantee you will be slapping your knee and singing along in no time. My parents (Joyce & Eddie) helped me out with the backup vocals. Our miniature Dachshund Suzie Q also makes a very important cameo appearance towards the end of the song.
