Description

A haunting yet heavy, hard rocking blend of music that isn’t easily defined. One song (Adversary) has been coined Grace Slick meets Tool. Others rock with heavy/punk thrash tones (Entering Silence) and then slips back into alternative.

Notes

Free Radt is one of Denver’s newest original alternative rock bands consisting of five (5) very talented, seasoned musicians and songwriters. Although Free Radt “the band” is new, the members are in no way new to music. Members range from Katz Romero on Lead Vocals, who recorded her jazz CD in ’98, produced by Eric Gunnison. She performed within the jazz community in Denver for several years. She also sang in various original rock bands and is Co-founder of Free Radt. Co-founder Jeremy Barber is featured on background Vocals, Guitars, Violin, Bass, Keyboards and Sequencing. His most recent release was with Frank Zappa’s lead singer, Bob Harris and Steve Vai (The Great Nostalgia) and has performed and recorded with many artists such as Riddlehouse, Kofi Baker, and Spiv. Carlos T. Villa: Guitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist, a true creative force with amazing songwriting talents who performed with various LA bands including Bad Karma. Angela Krannawitter: Bass and former bassist for Denver’s local original band, Nemonic. Tim Cooke: Drums, one of Denver’s best drummers (formerly of Russia, Madd Maxx and Danny Masters).

Free Radt’s first CD was released in December 2008, with 15 powerfully written songs that break through barriers of each genre, style and expression reflecting the full force range, and talent of the band’s songwriting capabilities.

It is our belief that the only way we as free will beings can exist is through our musical expression. We consider ourselves not only the Rats who have left the maze for freewill thinking, but also free radicals that are not programmed and conditioned by the trappings of the world. We solemnly believe that we fight the war of the soul and challenge that freedom every time we sit down to write music.

Free Radt would like to thank Denver’s 101.5 for showcasing Free Radt and other original alternative rock bands. Free Radt performs locally at Herman’s Hideaway and Club Inferno and will be expanding now that the CD along with t-shirts and posters have arrived for merchandising.
