Description

FORMATIV is an international progressive rock band creating unique music which blends classical, jazz, electronica, and pop elements together with soaring vocals, harmonies, and intricate instrumental passages.

Notes

FORMATIV is an international, transcontinental band formed in large part by the internet age. When keyboardist/Chapman Stick player Jeremy Cubert heard John Beagley's vocal performance on a Soundcloud song, he thought it would be the perfect voice for a long-form piece he had written. He sent a message to John who was keen to work on the music. John suggested that his online friend Ron Wahle would be a great fit for the piece to add drums and electric guitar. Ron more than rose to the occasion and added stunning parts. As the song began to unfold with vocals and keyboard additions, John thought that acoustic guitar would really be the icing on the cake. Jeremy suggested his friend and music collaborator Tom Kraus and the band was off to the races with John based in the UK, Ron based in the Netherlands, and Jeremy and Tom in the US (Maryland). Songs and ideas flew across the Atlantic ocean with John acting as producer/mixer. FORMATIV was born.
