Notes
"Euphonic Moods" is indubitably the CD containing the most romantic pages of the composer who celebrated in 2001 his 45th birthday of career and who, for sure won't stop astonishing!
Although François Glorieux has undertaken many instrumental experiments, it has never been to detriment of melody, harmony or rhythm.
Thanks to the talented musician Nick Ost, Glorieux discovered the euphonium that belongs especially to the world of Wind Brass, Fanfare Bands and Brass Bands. Charmed not only by the nostalgic sonority but also by the technical possibilities of this instrument, our composer started writing numerous works of chamber music (duets and quartets) discovering eventually the original association of the euphonium with strings! In fact a "first".
Therefore, the special character of this CD alternatively melancholic, descriptive and very melodious.
