Description
Hard Driving, hook laden songs that have a unique modern rock appeal. The straightforward, guitar driven songs are reminiscent of early post punk/pop era bands.
Notes
Review
Aficionados of original music will not want to miss the debut CD by Gold Fiber. The trio of Jon Cooper (guitar, vocals), Jared Haywood (bass, vocals), and Scott Slackter (drums) combine diverse influences to produce hard driving, hook laden songs that have a unique modern rock appeal. The straightforward, guitar driven songs are reminiscent of early post punk/pop era bands such as the Pixies, Nirvana, and Green Day. However the rhythm section of Heywood and Slackter combine to add a jazz laden, modern rock influence resulting in a unique quality that is absent from today's commercial music. This CD is a must for those disenfranchised rock 'n' roll fans that have been forgotten by the current commercial music scene.
History
Playing and practicing in a little shack next to Jared's house, they came up with their first song "overdrive". With no windows, the tiny shack was not suitable in the New Jersey cold winter. After bouncing from one house to the next, songs were made and recorded. After almost 3 years, the CD was finally completed. Now that the album is complete, Gold Fiber is looking for a place to call their home in the music industry.
