Description

A collection of original tunes by a well-known Okanagan luthier, from country and country/folk, folk and pop ballads, to swing and Christmas, and accompanied by professional musicians/friends, this album will surely brighten your day.

Notes

This luthier is usually found in the shop working on guitars and other stringed instruments, but recently has emerged from the shop into the Lille Gard Studio of Andrew Smith in Kelowna to record his original songs. With the artistic expression of his friends/shop customers, who play professionally with great talent, the resulting album creates a musical journey that will get your toes tappin' and your joy lifted. Listeners comment that some tunes have a "Lightfoot" feel, while others take you floating on waves of emotion, "certain to be one of our favorites" (Patrick Keeney). With Al Hildebrand's pedal steel riffs, Dan Unger's dobro solo, Neil Fraser's jazzy riffs, Andrew Smith's rollin' banjo and melodic mandolin work, Joel Gorrie's magnificent cello, Eric Funk's percussive driving beat, Bruce Weibe's great trombone work, Graham Ord's rippin' tele, Dick Owings' fiddlin' violin, and Gary D.'s embracing vocals and acoustic rhythms, this collection of tunes has a positive energy that's always worth listening to.
