Notes

What began as a musical dream bringing together 3 musicians from very different parts of the United States has evolved into the continuing story of a true American adventure. An adventure that breaks down the walls of musical banality. Across this vast sonic landscape is where you will find Hadley's Hope, an Indie Rock outfit that continues to grow stronger and more dynamic year after year.

Hadley's Hope's humble beginnings go all the way back to 2003 when singer-keyboardist Michael Fargnoli formed a band called Studio K. Finding success after 2 years of playing the local Orlando scene, Michael kept on the lookout for something that would further evolve the band. In 2005, guitarist Kyle Bodshaug joined the lineup which began the redefinition of a band struggling to find it's sound. In less than a year the band was re-named and re-branded as Hadley's Hope. Recalling the bands’ cinematic influence on their music, the name is an homage to James Cameron's blockbuster movie ALIENS which Kyle calls "the greatest action movie ever made. Period." Michael and Kyle's musical partnership began to develop and continued to thrive and flourish throughout several lineup changes. The result was a string of studio albums including their debut Bells & Strings (2007), Century Of Progress (2009), and Neon City (2012) which the Orlando Sentinel hailed as "a dozen songs that meld a bit of the musical grandiosity of Queen with the synthesizer-heavy melodicism of Styx".

In 2010, during the making of Hadley's Hope's self-titled EP, a chance encounter at Walt Disney World led Michael to meet Baltimore producer Ryan Graham. There was an immediate connection. Ryan was brought on board to finish the project which was released in 2011 and included the fan favorite "Candlelight." The band embarked on a new project with Ryan which became the full length album Neon City. During the final months of recording this epic album, Hadley's Hope saw another piece of the puzzle lock into place with the addition of Tim Hoeksema on bass. Tim's multi-instrumental musical genius and studio wizardry would cement his place in the band as an innovative engineer and musical director - traits the band was looking for as Hadley's Hope began to dive head first into their next recording project: 'Shame’”

With the advent of new material, a new album began to gestate. More rehearsals got underway while a "Mutiny on the Hadley" was attempted and thwarted. Michael, Kyle and Tim delivered swift and divine justice to maintain the momentum of the band they so passionately loved. Tim took on double duty as drummer and bassist, and with Ryan still at the production helm in Baltimore, Hadley's Hope began recording 'Shame'. With no time frame and no deadlines the band began writing and recording their most personal (at times painful) and thought-provoking material to date.

In 2015, Hadley's Hope rounded out their lineup with Eric Murray on lead guitar and Antonio Vito De Marzo on drums and percussion. "We now have a lineup that is more musical and more powerful than ANY before. We're playing hot enough to turn goat piss into gasoline.” mused Tim on more than one occasion.

Shame, released in May 2015, truly finds the band at a musical and lyrical creative peak. Songs like "Ragnarok" and "The Ballad Of Philip FitzRoyce" show that Hadley's Hope have begun a new chapter in their musical journey, re-energized and ready to challenge anyone's notion of what a band should sound like in the 21st Century. When asked about this incarnation of Hadley's Hope, Michael says, "We are a band that refuses to stop making music no matter what circumstances arise. It is our passion, our dream, and no one can take that away from us."
