Notes
Sometimes you get into your car and sing along as loud as your voice will let you... with a friend or by yourself. Other times at the end of a bad day you pour into your car, and you just want to sit in reverent silence knowing you are in the presence of something great. You let the music play to your soul. It was only natural that this precious space would breathe life into the growing call for this artist to forge ahead and find his sound in the world.
This album began on a drive home one day with his Mom. Something so simple and honest came from the words of this tireless supporter, a gift of inspiration to know it was time to stop hopelessly slugging it out in a passionless job and begin seriously creating a life through music. With her help and guidance the introspective journey began.
Enlisting the help from his sister, Vaughn spent two weeks in Vancouver, B.C. laying down his first recorded tracks at the Nimbus Recording Arts School. This first taste of recording lead to a growing need for a concrete collection of his inspired repertoire to be polished at the professional studio "Talking Dog Studios" in Regina, SK in Vaughn's home province.
The atmosphere at Talking Dog Studios quickly flourished into friendship, and from this sprang the symphonic splendour of ideas and harmony that seemed to rise out of all aspects of the project. With Rob Bryanton at the helm and Willem Schonken, a prodigy with masterful execution on the board, the process and creation of Vaughn's first album became a reality.
