SOUL CORE is a blues/rock band with a touch of gospel and features Dave Celentano - lead and rhythm guitar, David Park - lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, Wendell Stroup - drums, and Henry Gonzales - bass, Lisa Meegan - backup vocals, Steve Alterman - piano and keyboards, Jim Scimonetti - saxophones , and Scott Whitney - trumpet. The Allman Brothers influence is heard during the harmony guitar parts which are plenty on this cd. The cd features rockin' versions of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" and Sister Rosetta Tharpe's "Can't No Grave (Hold My Body Down)" as well as a Steely Dan inspired "Better Days" and a slow blues number "Perils Of Love". The lyrics are positive, uplifting and spiritually inspired.
