Description
the darker sensibilities of goth. the crunch of metal guitar. rock'n' roll swagger
Notes
Dead Eyes Opened formed in the foggy swirl of old town Edinburgh in late 2009. Songwriters, Dunsy & Spooks, found they shared the same musical vision thing - an unshakable belief that the song is King!
Fusing the crunch of metal guitars with the darker sensibilities of goth it’s a mash-up of latter-day Depeche Mode, a noisier Sisters, Dreamtime era Cult, and a bit of Killing Joke and a pop song sensibility.
The song is King after all!
Self-produced debut ep Submission secured high profile support slots with Goth Supergroup The Eden House, O Children and Die So Fluid.
Working with producer Steve Carey (Eden House, This Burning Effigy, NFD) two more releases followed: Believe ep and debut album Tyrants.
The band landed profile festival slots on the Main stage at Whitby Goth Weekend, Sacrosanct in Reading and Destroy the Silence in London.
Tour supports to the March Violets and Anne Marie Hurst followed.
The band played their debut European show in 2014 playing festivals in Frankfurt and Witten, Germany and 2015 saw the release of a new ep: Expectations Part 1 and a sellout launch show in their hometown.
