Description
This band consists of strong musical chops, a fusion of rock, funk, country and jazz. SOI is an authentic group of musicians that write, play and perform using the strengths of the band. A true musical synergy of art, talent and creativity for all ages
Notes
Son of Ian was formed by Trenton McKean in 2010. Since then they have come into their own, with Trenton McKean on lead vocals his soothing, growling voice is a force to be reckoned with, Dave “Bishop” Oster blowing down the house with his wicked sax, Trinidad native, Carl "Boss" Ross on bass, Californian, Evan Powell keeping the beat, and Patrick Neville’s beautiful leads on guitar. The creativity of this band will take it to the top where they belong. Since the release of their last album, Son of Ian was nominated to play at the 2013 Grammys titled “Gig of a Lifetime.” The band took third place out of 150 different bands in the American Mountain Region. Last year Son of Ian performed with some of the members of the Osmond family for the Olive Osmond hearing fund. In addition, they have performed on FOX13, ABC, KUTV, the Utah Arts Festival, Riverton Arts Festival, Ogden Arts Festival, Mountain Town Music, the Utah's Governor Convention performing for 34 of our nations governors, Tedx 2.0 “Afterglow”, Utah’s Cancer Society Luminaria, and many other great organizations nationally and internationally. This year Son of Ian will headline the Deer Valley concert series August 12th and will be sharing the stage with the very talented Andy Grammar July 17th for the "Enable Utah" benefit concert.
