First full-length from a mid-90s Boston post-punk quartet with alternating garage and shoegaze tendencies, dueling guitars, and male & female vocals.
Notes
Lady of Spain were a Boston-based quartet influenced by Come, The Wipers, Sonic Youth, Swervedriver, Juno, Hot Snakes, Ride, PJ Harvey, Joy Division, and Superchunk, among others. Active from 2003-2009, Lady of Spain originally featured Anna Cimini (Whitetail, Animal Hospital Ensemble) and Tim O'Connor (Hospital Rats) on dueling vocals and guitars, Allen Esser (Primitive Romance, The Glass Set) on drums, and Charles Morton (Shore Leave) on bass. Derek Mueller replaced Esser in 2005, and Yonaki was recorded at Moontower Records by Mike Quinn in 2006. Brendan Reilly (The Irreverends) replaced O'Connor in 2008.
