Description

The second studio release dispalys the bands ability to be melodic, straight foward rock, heavy and nasty while being rough around the edges and polished all at the same time. Dealing with subject matter from Bigfoot, addiction to killing your co-workers

Notes

Two brothers, two pairs of ex-bandmates, and what started as a fun project, the trio known as GREEVACE takes its name from its correctly spelled namesake: "Grievous: causing or characterized by severe pain, suffering, or sorrow." A certain General from a very popular Space Movie may have been the impetus.

Three veteran scenesters of both Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA, GREEVACE is comprised of brothers Andy and Chris Cauble on guitar and bass/vocals respectively. Drums are handled by Thomas Whitley. The brothers were in MONSTER (Every Day is Halloween) out of Atlanta in the '90s. Charlotte's BLACK LAGOON (The Ruthless Workings of Nature) was led by Andy and featured Thomas again on drums. Andy was also in Charlotte's punk rocker DRAT (Sorry, We're DRAT!), and Chris was bassist/leader of Atlanta's thrashers GHOST STORY (Seeds of Destruction).

GREEVACE embodies the spirit of real heavy music. Inspired by all loud guitar music from classic rock, metal, punk, hardcore, etc, no one is going to call it anything but Heavy Metal. The influence of various heavy bands such as Sabbath, Maiden, Kiss, Motorhead, Metallica, etc, cannot be denied. Power and melody are keys to the style, but the bottom line is good songs. Playing on their namesake definition lyrically, there is a cryptic element of that which threatens and is threatened. Like its conspiratorial themes, there are questions posed and up to the listener to decide for themselves what their answer is.

According to GREEVACE founder Chris: "I wanted to do a project that would have been something I wanted to buy and see when I first got into heavy music." Unable to find any dependable guitarists in GA, Chris soon hit up Andy/Thomas to help out. So what began as a NC/GA interstate project, quickly became a real band at the end of 2008 when Chris returned to NC. After putting together over an hour of original music they felt good about, GREEVACE debuted live in February 2010 at Snug Harbor, Charlotte, NC. Some three years later, GREEVACE has performed in several different States in the Southeast on multiple occasions trying to garner a live following. You can catch them regularly in Charlotte, NC, at Snug Harbor, the Milestone, the Chop Shop, etc. Playing nearly every weekend for six months in late 2011 to mid 2012, GREEVACE performed with many locals and opened for several heavily-touring acts such as Jucifer, Truck Fighters, Caltrop, the Shrine, Admiral Browning, Caltrop, Totimoshi, ASG, Raven, etc.

GREEVACE's first release, the self-financed and self-produced CD, THE EYE SEES ALL, is now available as of October 2012. Recorded at Charlotte's Catalyst Studio by Rob Tavaglione, the EP features four original tunes- Cabal, The Onus is On Us, GrassyKnollGroundZero, KONG, all written and arranged by GREEVACE. Although limited to 1000 copies, the band decided to make THE EYE SEES ALL more cool by doing a gatefold cover with lyrics included and full color
art/layout by noted Horror artist William "Bill" Chancellor. A few hundred copies will include a foil sticker of the red/black "EYE" logo that appears on the back of the CD. The CD can be purchased through I-tunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Ebay, and from the band directly.

December 2012 saw GREEVACE recording another self-financed four songs at Charlotte's Sioux Sioux Studio, with recording and mixing this time handled by Tracey Schroeder. The four tracks will be released again by the band as a CD entitled PULLING THE WOOL. The titles which appear are Harbinger, Giganticus, Murder the World, and Nautilus/Anunnaki, all written and arranged by GREEVACE. PULLING THE WOOL should be available through the same outlets as THE EYE SEES ALL in July 2013. GREEVACE has enjoyed some advance airplay of the tracks Giganticus and Harbinger on 106.5 THE END's radio show "90 Minutes", hosted by local fave Divakar.

GREEVACE is currently playing regionally in the Southeast trying to expand their fan base and gaining valuable live experience. With the two CD releases, GREEVACE hopes to gain the interest of management, publishers, booking agents, and record companies to take the band to new places and gain more fans.
