Description

MC Moneypenny is like an educational Weird All that sings about political issues.

Notes

MC Moneypenny was conceived out of frustration by Miles Disney in September of 2011. MC Moneypenny was created to promote the Tobin Tax – a 1/2 percent tax on the stock market—designed to discourage speculation and raise many billions for social programs. Miles felt at the time that even great ideas could get no traction within the traditional avenues of promoting legislation. Thankfully in October of 2010 while in a fit of insomnia Miles was inspired to write some rap lyrics about the legislation after reading a Paul Krugman Op-Ed entitled “Taxing the Speculators”. The lyrics sat for nearly a year until Occupy Wall Street transpired and Mr. Disney knew the time had come to create the song and video! Together with Sofian Khan and Beatmaster/rapper Extraordinaire Azwan “Tap Dat A$$et” was recorded and the video got a great deal of press during the OWS protests. MC Moneypenny followed up “Tap Dat A$$et” with “Land of the Fee” which can be found on Youtube and Vimeo

In 2015 Miles found a new collaborator in John Gamble and the creative duo hatched “Bernin Down Da Haus” with beats by Azwan. This song hopes to be the novelty rap anthem to the Bernie Sanders campaign. The highlights are a Bernie impersonator [Gamble] stating --- “Let me be clear…. You just got berned” after each insult to Hillary or Trump.
Upon discussing with other Bernie supporters on Facebook MC Moneypenny decided that it would be best to attempt to create songs for Bernie in each genre. Thus “Bernie for Hire” and “Bern it to the ground” were hatched in an attempt to swamp the other candidates in anthems for Bernie!
MC Moneypenny then created “Foxy” from lyrics he had written years ago explaining the nature of television and how Faux News has been so successful in hypnotizing the public to turn them against their own best interests. The final rap song is a mashup of the Beastie Boys and Dr. Suess!
