Simple Smithy is a music producer /song writer/MC born and currently based out of the Pacific North West . He spent his childhood growing up outside Mainz, Germany with his mother in a low income neighborhood after his parents split up. There he became fascinated with the Hip Hop culture that was largely influenced by the 90s New York era. He chose to move back to the States in his early teen years struggling to readjust to middle class social norms and American culture. He attended High School in a small blue collar town (Snohomish, WA) where he soon felt back at home, and had plenty of failed attempts starting punk bands upon teaching himself how to play guitar and drums as a teenager. After High School he moved to Los Angeles and attended the Los Angeles Recording School to learn the recording arts and study within the entertainment industry. Upon graduation he turned down numerous internship offers with studios and decided to move back to the North West to work on an album while getting independent radio play off the singles he has released.
His biggest influences include: Alchemist, Jake One, Dr. Dre, Sabzi, Dj Premier, Three Six Maifa, the Seattle grunge era, and the soul section at Amoeba.
