Notes
Silver Spade is an original modern rock band based out of Yonkers, NY boasting powerful vocals, shredding solos, rockin' riffs, and a whole lot of attitude.
The voice of Silver Spade, frontman Rick Yapchanyk, provides a powerful, yet unique edge to the melodies of their music. Rick's power vocals are uniquely and
unmistakably Silver Spade's, something that cannot be said about a majority of current popular bands. Behind Rick is his blood brother, self-taught guitarist Bob Yapchanyk, who keeps a tight and mild rhythm and breaks out in solos that is sure to make anyone start playing air guitar. Bob's virtuoso music talents is the strong foundation off of which Silver Spade builds. On the other side is bassist Eric Neuman, who not only completes the sound of Silver Spade with electrifying basslines, but can even solo like a fiend. With his incredible talent and bass effects, Eric will never get lost behind the guitar. Behind them all sits the backbone of Silver Spade, Pete Simone, who's emotion behind the drums grabs the attention of all and doesn't allow him to get lost in the back like so many other drummers. Pete's steady and exciting beats bring Silver Spade's music to life.
The Silver Spade story started many moons ago with two members of a local garage band. Through this band, guitarist Bob Yapchanyk and drummer Pete Simone, two close friends, became even closer when they began to realize each other's outstanding talents. During this time, vocalist Rick Yapchanyk began to make music a more serious part of his life by beginning to write songs of his own. It was only a matter of time before Rick and Bob began to collaborate and write music together. While Bob worked with his brother, he watched the garage band slowly fall to pieces. Although that band would never play again, Bob and Pete still longed to share the stage.
Bob, Rick, and Pete took the obvious next step during the summer of 2002 by setting up a few rehearsals together. The chemistry was there from day one and soon after the three agreed to form Silver Spade (then known as Xiphoid Rose). When the group began to play live shows, they called upon good friend and fellow musician, Matt Guarino to play bass. After a few fun and productive years Matt began to pursue his own interests as a guitarist and songwriter. As Matt helped his project get off the ground, he could no longer devote much time to playing bass for Silver Spade. But in the Christmas season of 2005, Santa brought a bassist to Silver Spade, and a band to Eric Neuman. Bringing fresh influences and a shit-load of talent, Eric completes the sound of the hard-hitting quartet.
