Notes
Season Unison was commissioned for the unveiling ceremony of The Earthstone sculpture in Redding, CA. The Earthstone is a large permanent sculpture amongst beautiful nature in Turtle Bay Park. The surface of the sculpture is covered in a mosaic of plants and wildlife native to the area. Using the sculpture as a departure point, Season Unison speaks to the diverse natural life represented on the sculpture. Furthermore, speaking to the permanent nature of the work, Season Unison speaks to the diverse characteristics and attributes that must be embodied by these lifeforms to survive all the challenges given by the four seasons. The wildlife, and us as humans, are multifaceted creatures, being able to survive the harsh winter and the sweltering summer. Season Unison represents all these characters in one complete work, from snow in winter, to warm summer sunsets, to life renewing spring.
