"...brothers united in praise and worship and at the same time making our faith relevant in our music.'' This statement sums up the mission of the new urban gospel recording group, 2nd J (Second Journey).
Notes
2nd J (Second Journey) consists of three brothers who have been surrounded by music all their lives and who have indirectly worked around each other over the years.
"Our paths had crosses on several different occasions, whether it was working in the studio with other artists in our city or sharing the stage at events," says Damon O'. 'In this time and season, I believe God's sovereign timing brought us together for this time."
The group name 2nd J has several significant meanings. Number one would be symbolic of the new birth in Christ. Another would be the fact that all of these guys have been involved in music for quite some time, and this is the enfolding of a new chapter for them.
"I am honored to be in this group", says Levester White. "2nd J represents men that stand in a unity. We desire to be effective beyond the music."
"I love my big Brothers! Damon and Levester are guys I have always admired from afar!" says Myke J. "Both are awesome in ministry! I feel honored just to be apart of this endeavor! All I can say is that the world is not ready for the ministry of 2nd J! To God be all glory."
The group's debut single, entitled "My Heart Beats" is now available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and Google Play. This song is dedication to their wives and the love they have for them. "The more we listened to this song, the more we realized that this type of REAL love music is missing. Of course you will hear songs from us that are going to be vertically directed, but also know we will do songs that encourage as well as inspire people and their relationships with one another."
"We are truly thankful for all the experiences God has allowed us learn and grow from. But to me, those experiences were just the first leg of the journey to help us get to this second journey which is the path we were intended to walk in all along."
