Description
This long-awaited debut CD could be described as Country infused Rock & Roll with a nod to the 80’s. Rich vocals, powerful lyrics with haunting guitar melodies by southern rock legend Dan Toler make this a must have CD.
Notes
As a singer/songwriter, Sheri describes her music as country infused rock & roll that pays homage to the music of the 80’s. Sheri delivers a powerful performance both lyrically and musically. Her vocal style can be described as a Pat Benatar meets Sheryl Crow with the richness of Cher.
This album has been a labor of love and while it is clearly a personal journey through the artist’s life, Sheri’s songs are poignant, relevant and the melodies are memorable and uplifting.
Recorded at Spirit Ranch Studios in Sarasota Florida, producer/engineer Bud Snyder enlisted some of southern rock’s legends to back Sheri on the studio sessions. Joining her from the Allman Brothers Band is legend Dan Toler, whose haunting guitar captures the essence of Sheri’s lyrics and melodies. The session band also includes some of the members of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend Dickie Betts & Great Southern band, Mike Kach on keyboards, James Varnado on drums and Pedro Arevalo on bass & dobro. Berry Oakley Jr., whose father & namesake was one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band, also lends his extraordinary talent on bass. Rounding out the band are seasoned players, Dana Parsons also on lead guitar and backing vocals and Garret Dawson on drums and percussion and of course, Sheri on acoustic guitar.
“Fate Steps In” sends a clear message that where there is despair, there is hope and where there is passion there is strength.
