A rare opportunity to hear a live recording of a free improvisation by a classically trained pianist and a blues singer. Solo piano echo voices of Ravel, Folk Tunes, Bartok, and Jazz. Piano-Voice collaborate to channel spontaneous music for healing.

@PLAY is first and foremost a live recording of a free improvisation which brings the magic of music making in the moment, weaved together by a spirit of play and freedom. A pioneer and an eclectic performance artist who creates original shows that re-invent the concept of presentation, Sarah Takagi knows no bounds in exploring the world of improvisation. The piano solo tracks run the gamut of expression as in the range of dynamics, keyboard range, but most of all, in the intention for affecting the listener's energetic field of chakras. As a Reiki healer, and a spiritual activist, she strives to be an instrument for higher inspiration and healing-allowing the sounds to come through beyond the censorship of the personality. The energies from this live recording capture this intention as well as the overall sense of adventure, playfulness, and love of mysticism. The 4 tracks that represent the collaboration between the pianist and singer-song writer Sarahs' (!) continue the free improvisation based on intentions for healing, prayer, and meditation. The last song of their collaboration- "Violet Fire" captures the magical moment in the performance as the audience spontaneously joined together in chanting "Om" at the end of the performance. All in all, this is a CD for adventurous and spiritual listeners who are looking for spontaneous, free spirited, out of the box approach to music making.
