Description

A soulful and reflective piano/vocal album for the introspective.

Notes

Music—like color—seasons the everyday life, infuses it with depth and texture. We find ourselves drawn to music because it awakens that world within, gets us tapping our feet and banging the steering wheel. Music moves the soul, stirs the soul, thrills the soul, and challenges the soul. It comes in all shapes and sizes from every corner of the globe…and music makers carry a love for that panoramic view of life nestled inside of them. Sarah Scharbrough is this kind of musician, this kind of gal.

Throw in a little pop, a little jazz and blues, a little country, and a little gospel, and you begin to describe the eclectic mix that makes up Sarah’s piano-driven and soulful sound. She, accompanied by her husband/drummer Jeff McLaughlin and brother/guitarist Steve Scharbrough, has logged thousands of miles nationwide on a journey of songwriting and performing.

The journey started long ago when Sarah began singing and playing in her young childhood. As the daughter of two musicians, spending evenings on the piano playing and singing was a common highlight of family time. Building on that foundational love of music, Sarah combines a classical and jazz influence into a soulful mix. Her songs have taken her from coast to coast, to colleges, fairs, festivals, jazz clubs, churches, and other events in the community at large.

Sarah’s debut album, “So Many Reasons”, was released in 2001 followed by her sophomore release, “The Least of These”, recently released in April 2005 and her Live Concert DVD in the summer of 2005.. In between her recording and performing engagements, she has also found time to be a part of the radio world. Although you may not realize that you’ve heard her, you probably have as the voice of local and national commercial jingles ranging from Ford, Dodge, and Hyundai to New Balance, the Pacers, and Cedar Point Theme Park among various others. She has shared the stage and/or toured with Jon McLaughlin, Jennie Devoe, Joe Diffie, Deana Carter, Allen Asbury, Montgomery Gentry, Cook 'n' Belle, Tracy Lawrence, Avalon, and Watermark among others.

Songs like “Everytime” and “What You’ve Made Me” will keep you groovin’, while songs like “Your Love” and “The Least of These” will resonate with your soul. This is what Sarah’s music is all about: singing the praises of real life—the life that you can feel down to your toes and the life that surpasses this present reality.

You’re invited to join in on the journey. Listen, visit, and prepare to be moved.
