Notes
“YESU ANIONA” CD by SARAH KARIUKI
Vision:
My vision is to be an inspiration to many people and always praise the Lord through my musical gift.
Calling:
I committed my life to Jesus Christ at the age of 16 and I have remained rooted to him. God has been faithful and has sustained me on my Christian walk with him. My heart's desire is to remain faithful to him too.
Involvement:
During my high school years I was very much involved with all music activities in the Christian Union and other school events and this progressed my musical talents. I learnt a lot on music dynamics while singing in the church choir and as a praise and worship leader. I enjoy participatory praise and worship that involve action as this makes everyone involved! My musical activities has enhanced my gifts and talents and opened other doors for my music ministry. I have received invitations to sing in churches, schools, crusades, open-air meetings, weddings, on the radio and TV.
In the past I sang in a group of four called,“The Sanctified Voices”. We traveled to so many places and had fun singing together – memories I’ll live to remember.
I am involved in leading songs during some of our Kenyan Christian Community events in Ontario, Canada. I do sing in my local church and other Multicultural events. My interest also, is to maintain my musical roots.
Songs on the CD:
My songwriting comes naturally from texts that I may have read from the Bible, my testimony or day-to-day life encounters. I remember very well that I started writing songs when I was in grade 5. I feel challenged that I have to utilize my gift for God’s glory. I taught myself how to play the guitar and I am glad that I can play the instrument by ear and I love it! It always amazes me the way God has given each one of us very “special” and “unique” gifts and my heart’s desire is to exploit this gift.
I am pleased to have recorded “Yesu Aniona” album. The songs on this album are Christian songs that speak about God’s love, goodness, salvation, kindness, and his majestic power and encouragement to have faith in all that we do. There are many life challenges that we face each day but the songs remind us to remain strong and firmly rooted in God.
Family, relatives, colleagues and friends always tell me to continue singing and I’ll keep on. Children too enjoy listening to my music. I am moving forward in promoting Christian Gospel Music.
Asante Sana!
