Retirement is a wonderful thing! It does however take some getting used to. After thirty-seven years of teaching high school shop and answering the bell everyday, some reflection and planning was necessary. One night after band practice during this reflective period, while having a large Scotch, words just started coming out of my head and onto the paper in my notebook. By midnight, I had written "Downwind Day". After adding the music, and played with my band mate Rob, my song writing career was launched. The stories and the music kept flowing and what is on the disk turns out to be a very loosely interpreted auto-biography. My musical career started about the same time as my sailing career when I was eight years old. The accordion came first, but that rowboat was not too far behind. I have been making music and sailing ever since. PM
