Notes

Battle Stations is a clarion call to find your post and man it! And the ultimate battle station is at His feet in worship. The Worship Team of The Rock Church Temecula Valley has put together a collection of over 20 original songs in a 2-Disc CD set. Sixteen songwriters, along with many gifted musicians and singers, collaborated on this exciting night of live worship.

The album is produced by Teresa Taylor, the Worship Pastor at The Rock Church Temecula Valley. Teresa is an accomplished producer/songwriter/recording artist with years of experience in the music industry. The album includes songs by local artists, Dennis Massawe, Kreg Ferris, Mike Miller, Noel Miller and many other up-and-coming artists and songwriters.

DECLARATION OF WAR:

I believe that Battle Stations is the clarion call—trumpet sound to wake up The Rock Church, the Temecula Valley and all God’s people. Over the last couple years, there have been a lot of songs written about “Awakening” “Awake Me,” etc.

The church has been lulled to sleep. Even the three closest men to Jesus slept through His darkest night.

Throughout history, the greatest injustices happened in part because good people refused to act or even speak up until it was too late.

Slavery:

Part of Chamaine’s song Get Up Gideon—goes into the old Negro spiritual “Wade In The Water”
Wade in the Water
Wade in the Water, children
Wade in the Water
God’s gonna trouble the water

Slavery ended when after centuries, good people finally decided that the oppression and abuse of a race of people purely because of the color of their skin was not acceptable to God-fearing people. Paul said that there is no distinction between sex, race or nationality when someone is born again. Finally good people decided to speak up, and actually were willing to lay down their lives for what they believed in: Freeing the oppressed.

The Holocaust:

During the early days and months of WWII, good people stood by and watched as Hitler invaded Europe, rounded up a whole race of people and proceeded to exterminate them. Not until the war came to our shores and became personal did the good people of the United States decide that they could not stand idly by anymore. If it weren’t for “The Greatest Generation” we would all be speaking German or Japanese today!

The Culture

Today our society is trying to silence the voice of the church. We are no longer able to speak of our own personal beliefs in public if it goes against what society is trying to sell. We are dismissed as bigots and right-wing fanatics. The media says the economy is better, yet more and more people continue to struggle with unemployment. The family nucleus is under attack. We are all under attack physically, emotionally, mentally and especially spiritually.

Tonight we are sounding the alarm. First we need to repent. We need to humble ourselves and pray. We need to ask God to forgive us for chasing after things instead of seeking after Him.

We pray tonight that we will wake up; that strongholds will be pulled down; that chains are broken; that the captives are set free.
