Description
Music inspired by Michigan's natural wonders...
Notes
MICHIGAN MORN is a collection of heart-warming and calming instrumental compositions by Roger MacNaughton featuring acoustic guitars, violin, fretless bass, drums, and piano. The pieces depict the majesty and beauty of Michigan’s natural wonders.
(From the liner notes...)
"A Michigan native through and through, I am constantly amazed by the natural beauty and grandeur that this great state exhibits. The breath-taking power of the Great Lakes, the majestic Sleeping Bear Dunes, the mighty Straits of Mackinac, the Upper Peninsula’s Tahquamenon Falls, Arch Rock on historic Mackinaw Island…these and hundreds of other natural Michigan wonders are well-known and visited regularly by avid beauty seekers. And yet, these are just part of the story, because we find ourselves attracted to an endless display of nature’s harmony just about everywhere we look. For me, it’s a view of a quiet meadow in the early morning when the mist is rising, or any one of a thousand inland lakes and rivers. Or the old farms…I’m a nut for old barns.
So I set out to create a series of song-pictures, each inspired by a special place or memory of Michigan. I hope you’ll take this journey with me and let each song flood your mind with your own priceless pictures and memories.
If you are from Michigan, you’ll know what I’m talking about. If you’re not, I hope you’ll visit, soon and often."
