Description
A fresh, rewarding musical experience that captivates, touches and arouses the emotions of your heart and soul.
Notes
Rhapsody In Blue has always had a special place in my heart. Whenever I listen to or perform this remarkable work, I am touched by the music in an extraordinary and inspiring way.
On this recording, I have arranged Rhapsody In Blue in a new and unique way, while still paying tribute to the brilliance of Gershwin\'s original composition. Additionally, I have included my renditions of other favorite selections, as well as one of my own compositions entitled, Remembering.
It is my intention that this recording will give you, the listener, a fresh and rewarding experience; a musical experience that can be appreciated and enjoyed.
Robert Van Horne began his piano studies at the age of seven and continued his life-long education in music, adding popular and jazz to his classical training. After receiving double degrees in music from the Philadelphia Musical Academy, he studied with famous jazz pianist/composer, George Shearing, who inspired Robert to develop his own creative style of incorporating original arrangements and familiar classics.
During his travels to Asia, Robert recorded several albums for the EMI label, and attracted the attention of many fans who enjoyed his popular and entertaining concerts. In addition to performing as a soloist with international orchestras, he continues to successfully produce piano albums, many of which feature his own compositions.
Today, he lives in Northern California and entertains audiences both in the US and abroad.
