Rob Butterfield, a singing songwriter from Vancouver BC, has just released his fist self titled solo effort to great warm reception. This rootsy-country-folk-rock album is bound to take you back to the subtle feel of a music steeped in tradition, yet without being a campy throwback. With his lively band of all dear friends, he has played all over Vancouver the past two years in all different types of rootsy arrangements, from acoustic bluegrass to all electric rock and roll. His influences go from Neil to Bob to Townes or Gram and jump forward to the present day Gillian Welch and Neko Case.
