Notes
The Ron Noyes band is an intricate blend of soulful grooves, crafted songs and driving jams that is being described as unique, intense and timely. This six-piece band is based in central New England, and together they have created a genre all their own. Ron Noyes's smoky vocals and dynamic songwriting set the stage for the great music to follow. The driving yet melodic guitar riffs of Carleton Page, the funky roots rock beats of Timmy Gray, the bass grooves of Frank Rayno, and the gritty background vocals and percussion of Lance Edwards are all rounded out by the soul sounds of Andy Young on the keys.
Just within the last 12 months the band has released a critically acclaimed album, earned college radio play throughout the country, received a "Best New Artist of the Year" nomination from Jam Magazine, received critical acclaim and radio play in twelve countries, and been asked to use a track from the album in an upcoming motion picture and recently made the charts in Europe.
The affect this band has on the crowd is amazing," says club manager Jen Halle, "they capture the audiences attention and keep them on their feet." As with many of the bands influences such as Tom Waits, the Allman Brothers, David Gray, the Grateful Dead and Dave Mathews, the Ron Noyes Band creates a relationship with its audience that is immediate and lasting. "They communicate through their music with dynamic shifts and a lot of emotion, it's really exciting to see and everyone leaves happy," adds promoter Jerry Moylan.
The music of the Ron Noyes band is spreading rapidly as fans connect with their soulful style, intense jams and sculpted music. "Its exciting," says bass player Frank Rayno, "being up there onstage and feeling this kind of response, its indescribable." With a successful college radio campaign, airplay on a major NH radio station, landing on the European Americana charts and a "Best New Artist of the Year" nomination, this band has a lot of momentum, and they have only just begun.
