3 catchy, memorable pop songs rigorously rewritten into classical-style sonatas, played by the cello-piano duo of Rin Eric and Carol Catalpa.
Notes
The first song, "We Can Only Guess" was a meditation on the saving grace of not knowing all the answers to everything; this was a product of many philosophical discussions with my dear Aunt Dottie. The second, "Rest In The Sand", is an unusual fusion of Russian and Spanish influences. I wrote it shortly after seeing a Tchaikovsky concert at the Hollywood Bowl and an Andres Segovia performance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Enamored by both, I incorporated them into my next song. I have always favored 'realm' to the term 'dimension' in describing consciousness and space / universe. "Realm Can" describes the imaginative idea of being able to walk down a city street, look into a clean trash can, finding there a separate, complete universe. Cities could have realm cans in addition to trash cans. I hope you enjoy the music!
