Notes
Rick McKown has been a professional guitarist, composer, and music educator for more than thirty years. He is a graduate of the Musician’s Institute (GIT) in Hollywood, CA. Rick’s latest CD, "Behind the Curtain," doesn't fall neatly into any of the commonly used music categories. It is best described as contemporary instrumental acoustic guitar music. All 10 tracks are heavily laced with Rick's signature style of speed and finesse and are backed by his own digital orchestra.
"Behind the Curtain" has been a very long time coming. As Rick says “It’s basically the album I meant to make twenty years ago.” When asked what took so long, Rick replied, “Life doesn’t always turn out the way you plan. Things happen. You get knocked off your path. But, to quote Roy Hobbs from the movie The Natural: “My mind was always on the game. So I figured…to give it another try.’”
