Description
Melodic and meditative solo piano improvisations.
Notes
An album of beautiful, meditative and melodic solo piano improvisations combining artful classical influences with an easy going contemporary ear recalling Ludovico Einaudi, Debussy and Philip Glass.
With just enough repetition of each delightful motif to draw the listener in, the organic, yet purposeful structures lead to moments of calm reflection, bittersweet joy and uplifting climax.
”An enchanting weave of minimalist movement … a flowing melodic soundtrack. With a personality as bright as Amsterdam in full bloom—it’s very easy to feel the joy resonate from such an organic work that creates its very own delicate ambience ... immensely passionate with finely tuned elements of strength.”
Igloo Magazine on solo piano album, Valentine Court
"In discussing artistic or spiritual practice, people often speak in praise of spontaneity and describe a process of ‘getting out of the way’ of the creative process.
Reflecting on this, I feel that whilst these pieces of music were composed in real time, rather than through a gradual process of evolution and refinement, they are equally as valid as a means of artistic expression. In fact, I really enjoy listening to them; some nice ideas came out and they have the added excitement that you’re never quite sure whats going to happen next! I hope you enjoy them too."
