Description
On "The Color Of Blue", Rhythmic Tide aimed to paint a musical painting, utilising the theme of blue. Whether it is blue (as in sad and depressing) or blue "as in the colour of the sky or the ocean."
Notes
RHYTHMIC TIDE is a play on the words "Sound Waves." RHYTHMIC TIDE is a musical project for singer/songwriter John Manly, Which came into being mid 2006, when John set up a small computer based studio at home, in which he began experimenting with the sounds that he grew up listening to, whilst still mainly writing songs on an Acoustic Guitar. As a songwriter, John began writing at the age of 12 and has been writing ever since, covering a variety of genres ranging from Rock 'n' Roll, Gospel, Pop/Rock, Hard Rock and Country.
With RHYTHMIC TIDE, the focus is on setting a mood and envoking emotions both lyrically and musically. Stylistically influenced by acts of the 80's New Wave era, such as Icehouse, Gary Numan, Pseudo Echo amongst others.
Inspired by one of his all time musical heroes, Iva Davies of Icehouse. John Manly started to put into action what he had learnt from various interviews he had read, and began recording tracks such as "Wire and Walls" and "Pages of Dusty Old Memories".
In October 2007, saw the release of RHYTHMIC TIDE's debut album titled "MIND FRAGMENTS." Following the albums release, The instrumental tracks from the album resonated with fans. When it came to writing and recorded the follow up album "The Color Of Blue", as an experiment RHYTHMIC TIDE focused on recording an album consisting of all instrumentals. Taking elements of 80's Synthpop, Industrial music, and movie soundtrack influences and rolled them into short 3-5 minute instrumental tracks.
