Description

Exploration into "blue jazz" featuring flute, guitar & piano with cello, vocals & kickin' rhythm section, inspired by "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis.

Notes

Made it into the top 20 at the Grammy Awards in 2002 (for new jazz composition)!!

Blue Etude contains 5 #1 tunes! Played on jazz radio stations around the country, this album placed #43 on national Gavin radio jazz charts, & placed in the top 10 albums for Year 2000 on WRTI-Phildelphia & Inner Visions Radio WHBN and KRSC (Oklahoma, Kentucky & southern states). The Reese Project, formed in 1990, has played many venues including numerous jazz festivals, planetarium shows, church concerts, street fairs, & more!

The 5 #1 tunes: Duncan's Waltz, Loose Goose Blues, Autumn Samba, Fall Blues & Blues Tuesday. Most tunes were in the #1 spot for at least three weeks, and stayed in the top 10 of these shows for up to 8 weeks.

Most band members are from the Philadelphia area (Tom Reese, flute/compositions; Kirk Reese, piano; Laurie Haines Reese, cello; Johnny DeFrancesco, guitar; Paul Klinefelter, bass; Glenn Ferracone, drums; Jeff Stabley, conga). We imported one from Nashville: Bobby Brewer, guitarist & recording artist. Tom & Laurie Reese are also members of several other bands (all have CD's available at CD Baby!): Wyndfall (celtic jazz & folk rock), Susquehanna (classical & new age) & Azure Trio (classical & folk).
