Notes

Jade CDs are widely heard on national and fine music stations throughout Australia, and are recognised as a valuable resource by educational authorities as being uniquely representative of the work of Australian composers. They are manufactured in limited runs of 500 and, as stocks are therefore limited, may be regarded as collectors' items! Fortunately the music is now available as digital download. All Jade CD covers are distinctive. Most Jade CDs have an anthology format and include works by several composers. It's great to have these CDs on offer for a wider audience at CD Baby!

HOME THOUGHTS
Lawrence's maquis of gods and ghosts
Have held the headland at Thirroul
Since I was three...

FROM ABROAD
Tinker, trader, traveller, crusader,
Emissary, king: every weary pilgrim knows
That loneliness turned homeward lonelier grows.

The flooding tide that stormed their headland every year
Tore rotting timbers from the jetty on south beach.
And Lawrence's dark gods took cover in the cold coast
rosemary

Did Richard 's Christian heart, like mine,
Find solace in the beat
Of lonely Arab music in a midnight Paris street?

Traveller, you knew the best, and worst, of East and West,
And all their rich diversity of silence and of sound;
What did you feel you'd found of either, in Thirroul?
Or did those empty sunny days sink through your hearts
Like ripples in a pool?
